AT&T is enhancing the Network on Demand platform through its relationship with Juniper Networks.

AT&T is utilizing Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies to create dynamic, on demand services. We’re leading the shift to next generation networking by providing customers with more flexible and scalable services.

Our Network on Demand capabilities are growing through an ecosystem of leading technology companies like Juniper Networks. The first deployment will be a software-based appliance, designed to AT&T’s specifications, which enables customers to run multiple virtual functions on one device. This enhanced customer premise equipment (CPE) allows greater flexibility and helps reduce costs. We’re collaborating with Juniper Networks to give customers more control, allowing them to quickly update network functions without having to buy new hardware.

“As a leader in network innovation, Juniper understands the benefits of automation and virtualization to deliver the agility that global communications providers like AT&T need in order to bring new, value-added services to their customers,” said Rami Rahim, chief executive officer, Juniper Networks. “We believe that Juniper’s long-standing collaboration with AT&T will continue to yield new and exciting offerings that utilize the power and intelligence of a software-centric network.”

“We’re working with Juniper to build and deploy the next generation of networking services. With the support of their technology, we can build and deploy new business services faster. Businesses can be more agile and cost efficient,” said John Donovan, senior executive vice president, AT&T Technology and Network Operations.

With new Network on Demand capabilities, we’re continuing to make our network dynamic and adaptive. We’re giving customers the agility, speed and efficiency they need.
