Global Cloud Networking Provider Deploys a High-IQ Network to Deliver Highly Reliable, Carrier-Class Services to Its Customers.

PARIS, FRANCE -- March 18, 2014 -- MPLS SDN World Congress 2014 -- Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR), the industry leader in network innovation, today announced that GTT Communications ("GTT"), a leading provider of cloud networking solutions, has expanded its offerings by introducing 100GE capacity on a global scale. Powered by Juniper Networks® MX Series routers and the latest generation of high-density MPC4E line cards, GTT's high-IQ network is optimized to respond to business customers' demands dynamically, providing ultra-fast connectivity, reliability at scale and unparalleled security to support data and applications to and from the cloud.

Operating one of the largest IP/MPLS-based networks in the world, GTT's multi-national clients depend on it to deliver unparalleled connectivity, capacity and reliability. To accomplish this, GTT needed to build and maintain a high-IQ network -- an agile, secure, automated and context-aware network delivering carrier-grade performance -- to handle the stringent demands of data integrity and speed, without compromising the end user experience. As part of a corporate-wide initiative to simplify its operations, GTT standardized its network on the Junos® OS, which has allowed it to streamline its entire network from edge to core. By utilizing the industry leading automation capabilities of Junos OS, GTT can rapidly deploy new service offerings faster, and automate corresponding back-end office operations to support and monetize the offerings in a timely fashion. In addition, as more customers migrate their applications and infrastructure to the cloud, GTT is able to scale its operations quickly to align capacity and bandwidth requirements as customer demands dictate.

The hunger for bandwidth and appetite for new services continues to grow, and cloud networking service providers are under intense pressure to address these ever-increasing demands. Recently, Juniper Networks announced a set of technology innovations specifically designed to help service providers build high-IQ networks that automate operations, scale network capacity and create new, customizable services. GTT's decision to standardize on Juniper technology was driven primarily by the company's vision to continue to deliver advanced network services and expanded bandwidth capabilities to customers all over the world. To date, GTT has deployed a carrier-class network infrastructure powered by:

  • Juniper Networks MX960 routers with 100G MPC4E line-cards, for increased capacity and density. With the Juniper MX Series, GTT is able to dynamically and rapidly scale capacity from 10G to 100G without network downtime.
  • Junos OS, a common operating system that runs across Juniper routing, switching and security devices, which enables streamlined network operations and a consistent, reliable and stable system for network operators.

Juniper Networks will be showcasing its latest innovations for service providers at Booth #102 at MPLS SDN World Congress.

Supporting Quotes:

"The growth of video and other bandwidth-intensive applications has made scaling our network capacity and optimizing provisioning lead-times absolutely critical elements when selecting our network infrastructure. As a leading cloud networking service provider, we must innovate to keep pace with the increasing demand for low-cost bandwidth, while continuing to deliver the reliability and quality of service that our customers have come to expect. Standardizing on Juniper technology gives us a competitive edge, and the flexibility that we require to offer customized services in a crowded marketplace."
